Summary:
These are Rain or Shine events. Please sign up only if you are willing and able to work in the pouring rain of the Pacific Northwest. We have planting/transplanting work in the Spring and Summer. Harvests will begin in August and run through February/March.
WE UNDERSTAND PLANS CHANGE, AND THE WEATHER CAN BE UNPREDICTABLE. Please cancel by 10 a.m. so we can better plan for the day.

Anyone can volunteer:
individuals and families of all ages, Friends/Pods, Co-workers, High School students looking for volunteer hours and anyone!

What to Bring:
Water, Work Gloves, Boots for the mud and dirt, sunscreen, and rain gear.

Where to Go:
Field work will take place at farms around the Snohomish River Valley. The locations will be informed a week before or so as the plants breathe and grow in nature. Field Maps will be attached when the location is determined.

Dress for the weather and itchy-scratchy field conditions:
The weeds can be 6 feet tall in places in summer—no open-toe shoes. Wear gloves - light-duty gardening gloves are better than chunky leather gloves.

BYOB:
There is no drinking water at the farm. Plan to bring your water out to the field with you. We may be a distance from the parking area. We do have a clean porta potty.

We'll have plenty of time in the fields, so the start time is the arrival time.

Contacts:
If you have any questions, email us at shunju@jbaseattle.org for registrations. On the activity day (if you get lost trying to find the field), please contact Fr. Jim at (425) 223-7249.
